I have some prints that already have a protective matte laminate on them. Can I still get

them dry-mounted, or will the already present laminate cause a problem? Thanks for your

the 'Metering Mode Selector' on my Pextax 645N just came loose, and now I can't easily

switch between multi, spot and center metering. Can anyone recommend a good pentax

repair center in the NYC area? I would ship to Pentax, but they are saying it will take a

month, and I have heard a lot of bad stories about their repair center. thanx.

What do people think of the Bronica Zenzanon-PG 100mm 3.5 Lens? I am planning on

I am new to Large Format, and have just received a Cambo camera and Schneider Lens as a

gift. The question I have is, what is the "X - M" setting on the Schneider lens? The lens is a

Thanks for all the info. What I was really wondering is, does the 18-70 lens have any

significant advantages over my 24-85 lens? I know the 18-70 was made specificially for

the D70, but what does that really mean?

Hello,

I bought a Gl2 about six months ago, and have been having a lot of problems with it

since. First, the rewind mechanism broke, so I sent it to Canon for repair. Now, I am

getting the "Clean Tape Heads" message pretty often. Could this be a sign of a more

serious problem, or might it just be the result of a bad tape? I am using Sony DVM60

tapes with the camera. Any help is appreciated.

I have a Canon GL-2, and recently, whenever I try to rewind a tape, the camera jams

and says "remove tape." This happens after rougly 20 seconds of rewind every time,

and it is not the tape, because I have tried many different tapes. Has this happened to

anyone else? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I need to send a cd-rom of AVI videos to Europe. The question I have is, should I

adjust these videos to Pal standards, even though they will be played on a computer

monitor? I do not know whether the whole NTSC vs PAL affects computer monitors

also, or just televisions. Thanx.

If I open video in Quicktime, trim it and then save it as a "self-contained movie"

is there any risk of image degradation or quality loss? As far as I can tell, there

is no compression occuring here, so I imagine it's fine. I just wanted to make

sure before I go ahead and trim a lot of my videos. thanks for the help.

Could someone tell me the proper way to reverse video in Final Cut Express?

I tried using the "reverse" option under "speed" in the "modify" menu, but then

the video becomes blurred. Is there a way to avoid this blur? Thanks for your

I was wondering if there are any decent large format bodies out there for less

than $1000. I'm looking to get into large format, but I don't want to spend a

fortune right away. And I'd also prefer to buy new rather than used equipment.

Preferably, I'd like to get a field camera so that I can use it outdoors. I've

considered the Toyo CF45, but have heard some bad reviews of it. Any info is
