A lovely photograph, it looks peaceful and calming with the water being so still. I like the curve of the footpath leading the eye into the picture, as well as the two figures giving a little human interest. Only thing I would fault is the tree in the left forground. I find it a little distracting. Maybe including the nearer bank would have improved things by making the tree more a part of the picture instead of an obstruction. Or else moving the vantage point more to the right to eliminate it altogether. Otherwise very good.

I think this would work really well in mono, which would bring out the shape and texture of the trees without the distraction of the foreground colour. Still a good picture.

Barbara is my sister-in-law, taking her photo is always a pleasure as

she's not afraid of the camera. This is my favourite of my portraits,

(even though the pose was her idea not mine!!) and I think it's

pretty good. I may be biased though so I'd like some more opinions

please.

An ugly building I know, it used to be an office block, but was

converted to a hotel a few years back. I work opposite and set myself

the task of trying to make it look attractive. This is the best I've

managed so far. I 've always liked light trails on long exposures.

Let me know your views.

I'm fairly new to working in mono, I like the feeling of texture you get without the distraction of colour.

I would like any critisism, good or bad as my ambition is to take great pictures, and you can't get there if no one tells you your weaknesses!! Let me know what you think.
