  1. I agree with brian. It would basically be a lateral move. If you were ever going to upgrade cameras would want an f5 but by no means do you need to upgrade. The n90 is a highly capable camera. A better investment would be some nice lenses.
  2. It all depends on who you ask. Some say it is very good. Other people say that it has some bad distortion. All I have read say it is plenty sharp. Definetly get it if you dont plan on shooting building or seascapes with the horizon in the top or bottom of the photo. If you do plan on using it for either of those then you must try it and see for yourself if the distortion is acceptable to you.
  3. I know that the slowest marked shutter speed is 8 seconds. I was

wondering if I the camera had any unmarked shutter speeds beyond this.

I did a test just now and I found that the shutter would stay open

for longer if I set it in aperture priority. Are these longer

exposures accurate? I know the fm3a has up to 30 sec of unmarked

    shutter speeds.

    Does the Fe also?

  4. The 20-35 is a very sharp lens. If I were you I would sell the 24-50 and get a 28 or a 24. Or you could always get the 18-35 nokon lens. Its very sharp, but watch out for distortion at the wide end. You should be fine unless you shoot seascapes with the horizon at the top or bottom of the frame. Hope this helps.
  5. Most of them have age limits :( Plus transportation would become an issue. For now I just stick to taking classes at a local community college. The age limit there was 18, so my parents had to pay extra the first time and get it checked out with the instructer. I learn so much in those classes. I think they are just as good as workshops, and at the end of the 8 week course we take a photographic field trip.
  6. lol! I must say that was a real good one! To tell you the truth I never ment to argue. It was a simple question. I was just wondering a SIMPLE question! Do I not have the right to ask a question? Geez. Actually no arguing is NOT more fun than making photographs. In fact I get VERY cranky unless I shoot at least 2 rolls of 36 exp. film a week!

Please forgive me if it sounded like I was trying to argue or start an argument. I was just wondering because I am about to purchase a 80-200 2.8 used w/ no tripod collar and would not want to cause harm to any camera with a brass lens mount. You know I think I should have said that before and it might of cleared this all up.

P.S. That last post was really clever!

  7. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. Why is it that

even the F100 has a brass lens mount.(I say this because I read that

steel was better) Is this purely a cost issue? In my last post

people seemed to think that brass was just as good as steel. If thay

is so why is it that the f5 has a steel lens mount?

  8. It was never meant to be a good canon vs bad nikon thread. I am SOOOO sorry if it came off like that! After all I use and LOVE my Nikon FE. Which by the way has a steel lens mount. :) I just though it was strange because I just read in a magazine how much better a steel lens mount was.(apparently not everyone feels the same way!) I just think that some people(not naming any names) can be very rude when it comes to internet responses. Just please, PLEASE try not to be rude. Why dont you guys just try to be nicer, not all of you are rude. Most of the time I get responses that are helpful and free from rudeness. I am sad to say that this is not one of those times. After all, didnt your mommy's ever teach you to treat others the way you want to be treated?
