You guys rake together 5000UKP give it to me no strings attached and I will take an unpaid month off work and finish it, no guarantees though. This is quite like the way I have to do it!
-
f5.6 to f11 is sweet, as with most lenses. I quite like the look at f1.5 for centraly placed objects (portraits for example).
-
And the lens infinity lock.
-
IMHO it's a fake, to be sure (ish) post (in focus this time) a photo of the front with the lens off.
Paint, too intact, not shiny enough and no brassing
Body cover, again too new
Shutter release, very Russian

Sounds like a bit of play (backlash) in the mechanism, usualy this is taken up by a spring, you could have one that is broken/loose. Is there noticable backlash when focussing the lens in the rangefinder? (a dead spot)

I love the 5.6mm, this digital stuff is going to take a bit of getting used to, 'Let me get my super long tele from my pocket', withdraws thing the size of a lipstick.
-
I would go for the Morgan and Lester too, a bit the wrong side of the pond for us Brits but still quite useable!
-
Well done, I would get a copy of the 'Leica Way' from focal press, this will answer most if not all of your questions (there are usualy a few on ebay). Run a roll or two of colour print film through it guessing the exposure, a stop here or there won't affect it much. Loading the camera is not like others, not difficult just different, do a google (altavista or WHY). To get a meter with the 'correct' fstops a Weston is the best bet, again loads on ebay, go for a later one. Use is the best way to avoid a CLA, try it before spending (what seems quite a lot of money) on one. And use the sunny f12.5 rule, negative film won't mind at all.

L crank dosen't have a hole!
-
Try the search facility of Pnet or even google, it works.
-
The bit I spotted is the black paint round the lens mount, real Leicas don't have this.
-
A scalpel blade to spread and a weeny tap from a screwdriver handle to close.
-
Trevor (and all)
To change the stiffnes of lock on the LH5 you spread the three small slots to loosen and close to tighten, only a wee bit mind you.
-
No it hasn't (fx cheers from crowd) I will continue once the work one is nearing completion.
-
It doesn't specificaly say 'Leica M-mount' lenses, I am shure the Ziess offerings are better than some of the M-mount lenses out there.
-
Very easy to do, search my postings there is a bit about removing the rewind crank with pictures. I did this with a film in the camera too.

Lutz,
I know it's only for the WinTel but I will mention this for others too, Iris is a free astro photography RAW manipulator.

Opiticlean odd stuff you paint onto the lens and peel off later, very good for the deep clean. http://www.caliope.co.uk/ super stuff not for everyday use (not because it harms the lens but expense) it is very gentle in action no rubbing required.

Two lines as far appart as the RF windows are normaly used, this can be at any distance and calibrate for infinity.

That's both the speakers and my wife.

Got a pair of ESL-63s, from Rupert Neve (another icon) they where used in one of Mike Oldfields concerts many years ago. He had a stack either side of the stage, mine are marked (with the big old stencil figures) L3 and R6 on the back. So he must have had at least 6 per side. I gave my future wife an ultimatum, if you have me the speakers come too! (I have both).

Insert film of an ASA, camera is set to go! But seriously for negative film follow the guide inside the box, if it has it, or http://photography.about.com/od/basics/a/bpmanualexp.htm

The only one I haven't got is the AGA, got to make do with a Belling. The top of the list must be the AVO!
-
King Dick spanners
Wayne Kerr electronic instruments (just for the name!)
AVO multimeter
Weller soldering irons
Triumph (the pre Hinkley ones) motorcycles
Marconi radio
AGA cookers

Volker,
Yes, a lot of companies haven't the time to do it right but plenty to do it again!
