Thanks Ted...I will look a little deeper into that function. Brian, yes, it would be easier if I posted the picture, however, I prefer not to put the picture in a public forum. I can and will share them privately with someone that is willing to take a look and offer suggestions.

I was working on making adjustments to a portrait using Paint Shop
Pro 9. The adjustments I was making were to the saturation, hue and
contrast & brightness. Things were not going well and in
frustration...I clicked and dragged on something and I ended up with
a rather interesting photo. The photo was a semi-nude done in a
portrait studio with subject sitting on a black sheet and a black
background was used. The results after my little temper tantrum are
as follows: The skin has been changed to three different colors.
Normal skin tones and the blonde hair are now yellow. Any shadows
and highlights in the hair are now bright red. Any bright spots from
the flash are now solid white. The sheet and the background are now
solid black. I have tried all kinds of ways to try to duplicate what
I did to no avail. I made the mistake of showing my screw up to the
model and now she wants many others done the same way! In all
honesty, the pictures really look pretty darn cool...but I will be
darned if I can figure out how I did it! To see a before and after
picture please contact me via email. Thanks in advance for any
suggestions on how to duplicate my error!

Bryce, I have experienced the same problem. Just last night I used it to shoot some engagement photos...needless to say about every other picture was out of focus. Thank goodness it wasn't a wedding! It was a great lense on my film cameras but I have had nothing but frustrations on my digital camera.

This is my first time to post on here and I must say...I am impressed with how quick the responses have been and how informative. Thank you all. Now another question (I feel like I should already know the answer, but I am a little dense sometimes and don't completely understand lenses): What causes such a difference in the price of a lens? For example on BH the Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Autofocus is $270 while the Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Autofocus Lens is $100. Is it simply the speed of the lens that makes such a difference?

I have been using the D70 for about a year now and love it! The
lenses I have been using are Sigma lenses that came with the camera
as a kit and Nikon lenses that came with with an N80 kit. All four of
the lenses have been okay...but I am wanting to upgrade to a good,
high quality lens primarily for portrait work. Most portraits will be
close up head shots, glamour style photos and a few outdoor photos.
My price range is $500 or less and I am not looking for a specific
brand...just a good, crisp and fast lens. Any suggestions from those
of you that are using the D70? Thank you in advance.
