I would have changed the angle, just slightly, to avoid the top of the tree running into the distant shoreline...perhaps by lowering the angle just a bit and moving to your right. In that way the distant cliff would fill that "open" area in the top right of the tree.....

Another shot of giraffe fighting for dominance in Kruger National

Park, shot during a recent hunting/photo safari. From a blind we

watched these two fight for more than 30 minutes.... Writen comments

    appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

I took this on a recent hunting/photo safari in South

Africa....this particular shot in Hluhluwe National Park....from

about 10-12 feet away. Written comments appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

On a recent hunting/photo safari to South Africa our touring group

visited a contemporary Zulu village and school. There were 94

students in one room in first grade, and lunch was cooked in a

corrugated iron shack over an open fire....rice and potato soup was

the menu the day we were there. I photographed this student just

watching us from a classroom window. Written comments really

    appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

I took this on a recent photo safari in Kruger National Park,

South Africa. These two males circled and fought each other for about

a half hour. After circling, they stand side-by-side and stretch

their necks out and then swing them wide to strike each other. You

could easily hear the impact from 70-80 yards away. Written comments

    and criticism appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

Nice composition, and the inclusion of a person with the strong diagonal shadow is a nice touch. My only suggestion would be to crop the photo from the top to get rid of the light area in the upper right, which draws the eye, and leave just enough of the black shadow area to add a bit of mystery...... I think this simplifies the picture and makes the lines more graphic.

Gerhardt, you are correct about the arms. She had just finished being a flower girl in a wedding and was wound up. I don't think sitting quietly is part of a two-year-old's make up. Thought about cropping to a head and shoulders shot, but liked the flow of the dress too much.... Thanks.
