I think that you did suceed in making a "different" photograph of a familiar subject. I think the image needs to be seen at a large size in order for the proper effect to come across. I'm happy to see something other than a plain old picture of some western monolith

Nice and clever in a sublte way. Reminds me of Westons photographs of the steel mills. Most people today wouldn't bother with a composition like this. I'm happy that you did.

Mr. Aqueel,
I entirely agree with your response to my comment. In nearly every photograph there is another work of art. What separates artistic photography from mere documentation is the interpretation of that art. What bothered me about your photograph was that I failed to see the interpretation. Much of my reaction was due to the lack of context of the image (is it a detail shot? what is the environment around it?). I have nothing against including other's works in your pictures--I do so myself-- but there must be an interpretive purpose.

Nice composition with the out of focus shadow. I like how the only light source is the monitor. Tri-X is a great film for long exposures and night work as it has a vast exposure range and can still produce a decent image even if it is badly underexposed or overexposed.

This seems to be more a reproduction of someone elses art than your own personal photograph.
