Comments and critiques appreciated. This is one of my favorite
corners of Walden Pond, and I happened up on some excellent light that
made the area come alive in early Fall of 2006.

Why did you choose to do that with the matting? I'd certainly prefer it without that.

I like the idea, but the contrast in this shot is tough. I'd also like to see some red embers/glow (but I suppose that might introduce some workplace hazards!)

This shot was taken on a very cold winter day at Halibut Point State
Park, in Cape Ann, MA. I loved how the ice was forming around this
rock on the shore.

I like the textures. But, the lack of a focal point gives me trouble, especially since everything seems to "slope downward" from that big dark rock in the middle. I find my eyes wandering out of the photo completely looking for the subject. Maybe this is where burning the edges would be beneficial to help keep you eye in the frame?

This one just grabs me.. I especially like how the lines on the rock make this look like some surreal marsh grass.

The purple flowers look surreal. Makes me want to return to the PacNW.

Nice, very nice. Love the simplicity. But, the hot spot (water?!) near the bottom left corner is distracting.
Walden Pond Impressions
in Nature

I've been playing with intentional blurring of subjects in my
photographs; would appreciate feedback. This effect is done during
exposure, not in the computer. Here, it's Walden Pond during an icy
day in February. Thanks!
