There is no degradation of the original. The image is reduced to a series of 1s and
0s. Making a copy is a good idea incase you loose the original. Just don't scratch the
CD ;-)

All, I have seen a few notes on the web noting that the LS-4000 software
3.1.3 is not supported on Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2. Is there any notes from
Nikon regarding this? Or from Apple? Is there any work around yet by going
into classic or should I put it up for sale on Ebay?

Arthur,
I too am in Atlanta. There are a number of areas to explore for Georgia. One of the leading photographers for the Southeast is Craig Tanner (http://www.craigmtanner.com). He holds workshops in the Southeast and is leading one this October in the Smokies. George Lepp is another great photographer offering a seminar in the near future.
There are great groups like the Southeast Photograhpy Society and Atlanta Photography Group as resources. (http://www.atlantaphotographygroup.org/)
Showcase on Cheshire Bridge Road (http://www.Showcaseinc.com) offers great classes and trips.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Nick

John,

Thanks for the info. Any bad experiences should be reported. This is
a Canon forum. It should be objective and not a Love-In.

The Firewire problem only pertains to the use of certain external hard drives and not
printers. BTW this printer stinks with a Mac and I love my Mac. I wish that I had my
1270 back, much better and stable.
