Too much visual clutter. My sugestion would be to get closer and try to crop the tree and the background closer, although the electrical wire is still going to be on the way...

Close down your lens to get more depth of field, so that the lamp shade falls into focus.
:p

i really like the lighting! Good job!
-
it needs either be focused as a whole, or have creative use of focus to emphasize something specific... IMO a completely out of focus picture is not too interesting to see

I believe the tiger is actually doing "la tigra" :) Great shot...

I love this picture! The warm tones of the candle combined with the setting gives off a really cozy feeling... great shot brutha!

I love how the extra space on top looks, definately dont crop it. Dream theater rules :) It was a nice surprise seeing John Myung among the pictures here. Great work.

i wouldve gone with the grain, to give it a bit less of a modern look, otherwise its a really cool picture...
-
It has a vintage looks that works IMO. Beautiful little girl :)
-
its pretty creative, although maybe using a narrower DOF wouldve given it a bit more character maybe? good job nonetheless

You could try a different crop to eliminate the roadsign on the upper left, which is kind of distracting. The shot wouldve been perfect without the biker to the right too. Otherwise, very nice veedubs/audi :)

Well i think that goes to show that it was an excellent picture...because you really were able to convey a feeling of isolation and peace when in reality the place was neither... although i do agree that the land is somewhat distracting, but at least to me, it didnt take away the focus from the house...

I was hired to shoot some stuff at an anniversay concert for a local
production company. The lighting conditions were pretty hard for me,
since I hadnt been exposed to this kind of shooting situation. Most
of these shots were taken at 1/6 with f1.4. Id love some critique
and suggestions on how to shoot in these conditions. Tripod was out
of the question btw. I used a Nikon F80 with a 50mm 1.4 lens and
Fuji Superia 800 film...
