I don't know what was on the left--I might have preferred to have the spiky peak more to the right if there wasn't anything obnoxious on the left. The light is wonderful. Nice to take a digital photo from Kodak Peak!

Hi, Ray,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on the photographic aspects of the photos in this folder. I must admit that in this case, I am more interested in getting the messages out than in photographic issues. I am plenty worried about Bush's war plans and hope that the photos will speak to photo.net viewers as commentary, if not art!

I really love this critter. Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled for such an interesting sight.

I love the way the light points up the wrinkles on his neck and forehead. This is my kind of shot.

The photo is VERY satisfying and the caption is very appropos. Beautiful.

This photo is just plain beautiful. I love the composition.

My husband and I were having breakfast outdoors at a farmer's market
in Quebec City when we heard military music. I rushed over and
found a formal ceremony in progress with the marching band from the
sailing ship Esmeralda, part of the Armada de Chile. This very
striking man was the drum major. To me, he looked even more like a
condor than the stylized one on the prow of his ship.
Should I have shortened the depth of field to make the background
less obtrusive on this shot?

This lovely shot of a patient bird must have been captured by an equally patient photographer.

I'm a real sucker for anything with a reflection in it. I love this one!

I really like the way this boy's brilliant white shirt echoes the whiteness of his eyes. This is an extremely touching photograph.

Stefan, this is lovely. The photo is so immediate, I feel as if I could talk to this person.

I love the message of this photo. How can I make the most of what
I've got?

I love this photo for the very same reasons that Fri does. I am so grateful that he (and perhaps others) "got it!" I have no idea who the people are, but I thought their way of acknowledging what had happened was perfect.

Thanks to Dean and Joey for taking the time to look, rate, and/or comment. I'm brand-new and it's very encouraging to have your responses and advice.

I love the title of your shot!

In contrast to the previous comments, I appreciate the beauty of the subject and the natural setting. It reminds me of the old song, "After the Ball Was Over." I think makeup would be fine for a glamour shot, but this seems to have another purpose. I think one problem with the white foreground is that the top edge is closer to a straight line, and longer, than the gentle curves in the rest of the photo. To my eye, that adds a slightly blocky look that's out of sync with the tone of the photo.

My son suggested that I ask for a critique of this photo. I would
be most appreciative of your thoughts and suggestions.
Thanks.
