Sree, as for macro/close up. Get an old manual 50mm lens (any brand) and reverse it onto the zoom- high quality macro
with no light loss!
-
Hmm a fixed focal length true wide for 1.6 crop- say a 10mm or 14mm, to
equate to a 16 or 21mm prime. But how much would such a lens cost?
-
55-250 is like a 85-365mm on canon crop
75-300 is like 120-460 mm
So the 55 zoom turns out close to how a 75-300 looks on a film camera or 5D,
but it has IS so you gain there! As for IQ I have no idea!
-
Pity Canon never got into MF!
-
10 grand, jesus! Lottery camera. With that kind of camera tho you won't be worrying about AF! Its not a camera for quick
shots!
-
200 is a lot of money for a flashgun, I'm looking under 100.
-
That 645D is so droolsome, but my god how much will it cost?
-
That nissin looks good, I bet its pricey tho! Thing is all these flashguns are
super powerful and I only need one for macro so a small unit would suffice
for the 30D. Bounce head might come in handy for shots of my kids tho...
-
Thanks Bob. I found a used 420 EX in a shop but was told it wont work on
the 30D, same story with canon off camera cord II!
-
The question I have is do I have to have a ETTL II gun on my 30D? Or rather Can I use a gun with regular E-TTL on that camera? If so why cant i use the 420EX on the 30D?
-
Hmn paolo i dont get that 'The cake is a lie' business!
-
Frank, I don't have a manual for the flash, it eas bought used. Ive heard mention on a forum of someone using it on
20D...
-
Well as far as noise is concerned I took some shots last night at ISO 3200
and was impressed!
-
I have a Cobra 440AF flash that wont work with the 10D but does anyone
know if its compatible with the 30D?
-
Stephen, so are we!
-
@Keith, I'm in Darlington, been here 10 years now having moved up from the midlands.
I have no idea where Blyth is,lol

I've always counted my blessings, and cant afford new gear.
-
The 30D just came, oh my god how different to the 10D! Not much in weight but it is smaller. Nice big screen, higher pop up flash
position, ooh its nice! Thing is its obviously second hand as the 30D is obsolete but it looks and feels brand new-the seller obviously looked
after it!
Came with 3 batteries, 3 memory cards, EOS strap, unused, charger and cable, unused, all the original paper work and CD ROMs. I'm just
over the moon!

Hmm I downloaded the photome software, useful i suppose if you can edit the EXIF, but i found no field for shutter cycles, unless you count this:
File number................149-4951
When I click on that number I get Value..............1494951
-
Hmm, for bird shots the extra focal length from an APS-C sensor would come in handy, so that would be the 7D. but for me it would have to be a 5D. I so want full frame!
-
I've noticed this a lot in camera listings, where the seller lists the amoungt iof shutter cycles the camera has
fired. Where do I find this on the 10D? (I bet its a lot!)
-
Well its on its way...

Hmmm KEH is no good to me as Im in the UK! Im going for the 30,, if all goes
well!
-
Cant affird the 40, but theres a 30 on ebay for about 250. Might not be able to
do it yet but its got me excited! Spot metering on the 30 you say? Hmmm...
Should i upgrade from my 40D to a 550D or 60D?

I like the weight and quality feel of the xxD series- A xxxD would feel light and
plasticky and would definitely be a downgrade for me!
