Congratulations, Graeme!
A very well-balanced view of a piece of weatered knotted wood, that somehow is full of life and fantastic beings...

Great photo - and outstanding darkroom work!
-
Ooh... I like it!
-
Sorry - I didn't like this. It's too close to symmetry to look right with the slight slope; there is too little of interest in 90% of the frame. The cropped version is much better, although I probably wouldn't crop quite as much.
-
Maybe unintended, but quite astonishing! How did it happen?
-
A beautiful spot, but there's just too many details in the picture. I think this may be one of those pictures that look great in really big enlargements (say, 1 x 1.5m), but is curiously disappointing in any reasonable size.

I agree with carl. That would have removed the "color-grains" in the transition between green and red, as well.
-
With "real" film, I assume you would have held back the bottom half a bit in copying? It isn't as easy to get a good result in Photoshop or similar...
-
Very well done. Excellent use of a large-format camera.

Looks like the DOF is a little on the narrow side - the closest "knob" is out of focus. Pity - I really like the picture!

Even stranger bar across the sun?

Oooh - nostalgia!
I used to have one of those - an even older one, in fact! This looks like a 1968 to -70?
Nice picture.

Beautiful. I like it! Only wish you'd used larger format...

Nice picture!

Beautiful picture!
The bottom third may be a bit "heavy"; if I had made this, I would have held back a little on exposing the bottom in the darkroom. Perhaps.

I don't think it is too blackish. I think it's too greyish. A little REAL black would make the rest seem lighter by comparison.
Nice picture, BTW!
PS. Do you use an AGFA scanner? If so, there's a new driver which fixes the cropping problem!

Interesting how the defocussed image looks similar to a zoom effect - yet completely different.
And no - I normally don't rate ;)
