I like the composition. Strong in its simplicity. The upper right spoils the remaining otherwise pristine snow.

The soft lighting is great. Did you use a reflector for fill? I like the close crop.

Thanks for all the comments. I took a closer look at the negative. Darn, there is more detail in the horses :) It's back to U-Develop I go.

Not to sound too much like my 9 yr old son, but, DUDE, I love this image. I really like snow, and I love barns. But you have captured them in a way that I appreciate. The fence leads the eye into the image. I like the way the small wooden structure image left are duplicated. The small trees on the right create just enough depth.

Great capture of a great smile. The texture in the backround is nice, too. The elbow is ok, but I think the hand should have been included.

This is a painting, no? Come on, you painted it. I like the very low foreground horizon - a strong anchor for the trees. The hill and river add a strong dynamic. I actually would like to see the sky cropped out by 50%, about where the smaller trees on the hill top out at. Nice, nice image.

I exposed this image last August, but only recently attempted to
print it. It is by far the most difficult image I have printed to
date. Please critique general composition and print quality
(considering screen limitations of course).

Nice use of light and great composition.

If the woman is the main subject of the image, she might have benefited from a little fill flash.

Your use of the u-shape of the clouds makes this otherwise static landscape a dynamic panoramic.
-
Nice slow angle. I'm wondering if the trash can could be cropped out.
-
A little unnerving - looks like an abduction.
-
I like the low to high point of view - adds interest.
-
Nice lighting and good composition.
-
I like hte patterns and the tones.

I wonder what the child is thinking. Nice exposure for the mood. The dark space to the left is not needed in this image.

For me this is a simple, strong image. Blues, blacks and whites. I like your choice of time of day, lighting direction and point of view. You also have given the boy a place to go in the image. The reflections is what I think take the image from being good to great - it adds depth.

I like your point of view on the subject. The yellow almost appears to be glowing. Gorgeous colors without any distracting background elements.
-
Nice tonality - pretty subject. I do not like the position of her elbow.
-
I like the simple tones and the uncluttered composition.
-
I like the low horizon. Placement of the tree works good.
-
Nice exposure. Might be stronger if cropped at the sign near right edge of umbrella.
-
I absolutely love this image. The view from over the mother's shoulder is different - for me anyway, and like the way the mom is not in focus. Great exposure, too.

Wonderful close-up. I like the colors, and the andgle of the veins and wings work well together.

I'm not sure if I'm viewing clouds or water. Mystery is a good thing. I like the dynamic between the diagonal and horizon. I also like the way the wisp of clouds mimicks the diagonal line. In opposition to the above poster, I prefer yourchoice of little sky - maybe even less would have worked. In response to your post concerning this sight and its critiques. It can drive a person crazy at times. There are "WOW's" everywhere. On great images, and on not so great images. To me, wow just doesn't cut it. Even if it's only nice color, or good composition, it's a better benefit than "WOW".
There is a gentleman on this site named Marc Gouguenheim. I seek his response out first to each new "Photo of the Week" (POW). Very articulate, cordial, and great insights to life. Enjoy the site, and I'll enjoy your LF posts.
