    Water Baby!

Just curious what everybody thinks of this portrait. Is it in need of

some fill flash? How would you have framed this image? Any comments

    are appreciated.

    Happy Chap!

I shoot mainly natural light portraiture, and most parents are

thrilled with the results. However from a technical point of view,

do you think I should introduce some fill flash? Just to bring

some light to the eyes? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to

using flash, so any tips would be appreciated. I'm working with a

Canon EOS30 and my flash is a 420 EX, though hopefully

upgrading to a 550EX soon, just so I have that extra bit of control.

    Please check out my

    think. Thanks in advance. Kate.

I chose to include the ball in the photo, but throw it out of focus

so that your attention is drawn to the dogs assertive eyes. He

was waiting for me to throw the ball when i got down to his eye

level to take the shot. I had somebody standing behind me

attracting his attention when I took the photo. I didn't want him

looking directly at the camera. Not sure if the ball is too

    distracting. What do you think?

    Pet Portrait

This is my first attempt at pet portraiture and I was quiet fortunate

because he was so well behaved. He loved being in front of the

camera, unlike my own dog :) I think the leaves near his chest add

colour and contrast... or are they too distracting? What do you think?

Watersports would have to be one of my favourite subjects to

photograph. Purely because of the fact the camera can capture

things that you cannot see with the naked eye. I usually open the

aperture right up and shoot multiple frames to get the best shot.

    What do you think?

  1. Wow, words cannot describe what I feel when I look at this photo. The contrasting colours, the dreamy sky, great lighting and an amazing depth of field. What more can I say. I love it.

    If anything, it's too perfect : )

  2. This is my first attempt at night photography. It is also the first roll

of slide film I have ever put in my camera. I am hoping fellow

members of photo.net can all give me some guidance and

comments (favourable or not). However if you do choose to rate

this photo please justify this by leaving a comment so I know

what I need to improve. Thanks.
