Mono version converted in red channel & curves adjusted to boost contrast.

Hi Liz,
This is a beautiful shot - typical Irish hill country scene. The composition is spot on but as you say the sky is dead. A slight crop on the top helps minimise its distraction. A slight levels adjustment helps the colour--in this case auto levels was sufficient. See attachment. A very moody mono version would be possible too.
Regards Pete.

Pete, Belated congrats on POW. About time too. All the analysis has been done by everyone else so there is not much I can add. The final version really pops. Sometimes one works at a shot for a long time and the end result can be worse than the original but in this instance the evolutionary process has been spot on.

Maybe a little dark at the top. The towers are loosing some of their impact.
Great landscape work in your portfolio.

I had driven past this field twice in the last few days & managed to
get back today with a camera before the flowers fade.
Just printed it at A3 & am well pleased.
Any comments appreciated.

Taken from a train window. This young girl looked out the window as I was trying to get
a shot of the steam engine pulling the train. A quick re-focus and shoot and she was
gone, 10 seconds max. A real grab shot but it always appeals to me.
