The image is well taken. A good mix of light and shadow.

The background leaves much to be desired. A background with more detail and more color would improve the image. Even if the background is soft detail and color are important. You get points for focus but the subject is uninteresting in its cropped state. The framing could be improved by using an offset and lower POV.

all the comments above do have merit but photography is about the mement, not the absolute perfect image. i think all the digital alterations on photo.net lead many to think they know what 's a good image. any real shooter will tell you this is a wonderful portrait.

I only feel compeled to mention this because I saw that this photo is rated below a 5 and in my opinion is rated unfairly by the digital alteration fans or photography novices.

if anyone has ever said to themselves "I'll fix it in photoshop" then they are no photographer.

this is a wonderful photo. her expression and the tones is what makes this a great pic. every photo must be put into the context of the moment and i think this image does just that. well done. 7/7

i think this photos unfair score just illustrates how askew photo.net's rating system is.

shooters and the photoshop users should really be set apart. personally i only care to view other shooters work . yes i agree digital/alterations haved their place but i don't think its with actual photographers.

sorry for the rant but this photo is rated unfairly in my opniion.

10+, composition, lighting and exposure. very flattering to the model which equates to great work Bruno.
