A little dark for my taste. Too hard to see many details.

I posted the unframed version a little while ago. Do you have a framing preference?
Thanks in advance,

That is the question. Do you have a preference? Should the photos posted on photo.net stand on their own? Does it depend on the photo?
I personally like this one framed. It looks much closer to the print hanging on my office wall.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

John,
I agree. I'm just starting out here. I really don't have the money for a perspective control lens, and I'm just beginning to learn Photoshop Elements 2. Thanks for the comment.

Yes it is interesting to me. I'm attempting to purchase an old farm in Appalachian Ohio, Perry County, ex-coal mining capital of the US. I hope to get out and about and document the area after I get settled in. There is a lot of character to be found in places such as this.
I wonder if you could have taken 10 paces back and 2 - 3 paces to your right, you would have got more of the road. Included more 'context' for the sign.

Sublime. Moody. I like it.

My first thought is the lack of a horizon detracts from the photo.

For a while I was carrying my camera everwhere. I shot this of our waitress coming to our table to take our order. She came around the corner, saw my camera coming up, paused for a heartbeat, smiled, then kept moving.
Is there anything here?
What do you think about shooting people at work?
This was shot with my 50mm f/1.4 and is full frame. Do you think the extra background provided by a 24 or 35mm would help the shot?
Thanks in advance,

Please forgive the lack of fine details. The 3200 scanner does not do the photo justice. I'm interested in hearing what others think about the converging lines of the river bank.
Thanks in advance,

Onno,
Appreciate the compliment.
This was taken at a charity auction. I think he was getting ready to hold up the next item to be auctioned.
This is a scan from a print using an HP ScanJet 5300C scanner. No PhotoShop work. Just a crop.

Practicing composition.

I'm working on composition with this. I am interested in comments
related to DOF and object placement. (Is this a balanced photo?)
Thanks,

I'm very impressed. I looked at Yuri's folder. Tremendous variety! And even more impressive, I really liked about 95% of his photos.

I think the ducks make the picture. I'm not sure how familiar the phrase "getting all your ducks in a row" is to everyone, but I just couldn't resist.
The cropped image is too sterile. It's more of an abstract to me (which is fine).
Good composition.

Columbus Summer Skyline
in Uncategorized
Posted
Very nice. Columbus has a very nice skyline. I worked in the main Huntington branch in Office Information Systems and supported International Operations in the Huntington tower around 1989 - 1990. I spent an afternoon with my Nikon FE in front of COSI's 'new' location along the river.
Are you from the Columbus area?
