Having recently returned from a photo project in western Tanzania villages, I have to tell you how meaningful I find this shot.

Unlike another poster here, I do like that shadow. It contributes to the interplay of light and darkness. Nice work, as usual.

What makes this shot for me is neither the lighting within the rooms nor the almost perfect symmetry of the building, but the slight glow of backlighting that models the structure and turns this from a well-composed snapshot into a true photograph.

This one grabbed and held me. I'd give it tens across the board. Quite apart from the craftsmanship and sense of a story waiting to be told, this photo shows me, just a week before I'm set to leave for Italy, the power that a panorama can have when it's used to make a thoughtful photograph, rather than just because the photographer happens to have this tool in his arsenal.
