Can you comment on how you lighted your subject as well as camera and lens combination and your post processing technique.  I enjoy your style and would like understand it a little better.  Thanks

Paolo, I found this image compelling because it brought about feelings of people of different morphologies standing in line. Perhaps in a humorous way. Well done. Vr Andy
  1. Miles, this is a very three dimensional image that the complimentary nature of its colors extenuates along with the great DOF. Well done. I enjoyed your web site. Good hunting. Andy

Isabelle, I like the way you chose to present these flowers. I have images of poppies I have photographed similarly but your composition and color scheme works much better. Respectfully, Andy

    Cody,

I am not sure about the color and contrast but I like the mood of this image and the position of the turtle relative to the reef. You might try cropping and or using a red photo filter to adjust the color and PS levels to adjust the contrast. Nice work. Andy

    Wojtek,

Another wonderful image of your horses. Wonderful action and muscle definition. The colors are classical like chiseled marble.

Our thoroughbred wishes you a Merry Christmas!!

  2. Daniel,

This is very nice. You have done a fine job of controlling the shadows by treating them as objects that surround the subject within the image. Not too much not too little. The monk's expression and warmth of the light are very classical. I wish I could have been there though I can personally feel the time and place of this image. Thanks for realizing it.

    Respectfully, Andy

    David,

Nicely done. Very moody sepia. A good example of judicious cropping of branches. I might have cropped slightly more on the bottom but I like this image as it stands. All the best.

Janusz, I think you did a good job of using contrast to accentuate the features of the spring. The only question I would ask is that would greater depth of field helped or hurt the image if you're looking to improve it? Personally I like it the way it is. Nicely done and very nice portfolio. Respectfully, Andy
  3. Tony,

So I showed the modifications to my spouse and she like your original best for the very reasons that I made my changes. The shadows on the right create the sense of isolation and vast emptiness. The diver in the middle amplifies this notion. So much for my insight. :)

  4. Tony on this second example I used photoshop to add dimension to the viewer's left side. I cropped the right side. This to demonstrate my point. I hope this is OK and I certainly apologise if these changes offend you. The original image stands on its own. Andy

  5. Tony, I like the shot very much but perhaps cropping either side would be helpful or shooting vertically. I try to treat shadows as if they were meaningful objects. If you panned to the left (the diver's right) and placed the diver off center it would allow the light to pierce the darkness into the lower left corner. Perhaps that would make the image more compelling. The silhouette is fine against the cobalt blue. Nice job and all the best.
