    Personally I find the cropping to be just right. But it all depends on what 'message' you're trying to send. If your going for a portrait then I feel that more cropping is necessary as the background distracts from your subject. However, I find that the background makes this picture more interesting. For instance, the jiko (cooking pot) in the background shows us a little bit of the life of Kenyans. I feel it adds more personality to the picture.
