I own a Rollei 6003p, Basically the same footprint, weight and uses
same lenses as 6008. I use this camera handheld 80% of the time. As
the ultimate test I took it on my family vacation and I used my heaviest
lens - The Scheinder 50/2.8 (which I sold, regretably). But it worked
and handled well and was quite comfortable to carry throughout the
day. I plan on upgrading to a 6008AF as soon as I need to utilze digital.

I don't know if you had it done yet, but you may want to call a
small camera shop in Elmwood Park, NJ (Rt 4) called Krimar
Photo Shop. The owner, an elderly man, actually works for the
Rollei Corporate office in Pine Brook, NJ as their service
technician. He probably knows more about Rollei cameras than
anyone and his prices are reasonable.
Medium Format digital, big sensors or big numbers ?

Patrick, you are not the only one who wishes for a full size sensor. I currently use a 6mp Nikon, a 4 mp Olympus and guess what I get great poster sized output that I run on my Epson 7600. What I get is great looking prints. Sure there is always room for a few extra pixels, who wouldn't want the extra detail. But dont be fooled into believing that you need over 6mp to sell professional work. Remember the more the MP's the bigger the files. Computers have a limited amount of storage space. As for those who suggest we just stay with film, they obviously don't know the advantage of a digital workflow. Aside from my digitals I own two Medium format Rollei's, one SLR and a Twin Lens. I love them and believe there is no better cameras made, but digital is the future and until I can get a digital back for my Rollei 6000 system, it will sit on the shelf. Originally it was a $4,000 investment that now I hope I can utilize one day when digital backs become more affordable.
Good Luck to us all,
