Or you could send it to Camtech (www.zuiko.com) for $99 including CLA and battery conversion (This is what I did).

Can anybody point me to a current flash the supports olympus OM TTL
flash? If it matters, this is for use with an OM4T. It does not need
to support Super-FP though it would be nice.
Thanks

If I remember correctly, the inner ring has some pictures on it. possibly some trees, some people and a single person. These are to indicate focus. for a photo that fits one person in the frame, set to one person position. for a faraway subject, set to the trees.
I could be wrong, I haven't used my Pen ee for years. I will check it this evening and get back to you.

I bought it last week for $130 Australian, with a working OM10 behind it (that they wouldn't seperate...) The annoying part is I think I could have talked him down to $100... Oh, and the lens is probably the in the best condition mechanically of any of my lenses and there are no marks on any of the elements and, to top it all off, it takes nice pictures too:)

I own and use a Digilux 1. I would not buy one today simply because they are over a year old and there are now better offerings (unless you can get a good price). Also, the prices here (that I have seen in Brisbane)are basically the same as the panasonic. The Leica looks cooler:) There are 2 things that I love about this camera. 1. It doesn't look like a digicam from the front. People react diffently to digicams than they do to a film camera (I don't know why???) 2. The prints I have made (up to 8x10) look great. I also use a film SLR. the prints do not look as good as from this but this is no surprise. Oh, the other reason I would not buy one now is that I expect my next camera purchase will be a digi SLR.
I think that this camera was definately worth the money when i purchased it.

And if you took away all the filters on the CCD that colour needs, could you put this B&W sensor in a rangefinder camera with traditional lenses? That would be cool!

seems to me that a digital leica M could be possible if it were black and white. Wouldn't that negate the need for all the little lenes on the CCD? no need for an array of colour filters etc... and the smaller need for processing could make the whole thing smaller than other digis... just a though.

I thought that was supposed to be the hand of God. More Monty Python than Cliche...

I love it. As for too hard? I am a big fan of the sharp portrait. I think it looks stunning.

for those wondering about 100% view, read the column on the front page of photo.net called "SLRs: finding the view".

Olivier, Of couse they still make film cameras, just not real 35 MM SLRs (Much to my lament also.) However, on the medical imaging, they make a hell of a lot of microscopes etc. They would be the most common brand in this University department.

Buggar, I thought that I was a lazy photographer because I didn't bother with fixing photos in PS. Then again, I also have too many B and W prints that I need to print. Personally, I find taking photos to be the fun bit (and wondering how many times Al can answer "Huh?"), the idea of PS just sounds like to much effort... So who's the lazy one?

What about a Black and White DM? Wouldn't this take away most of the optical problems but reducing the the number of wierd filters on the front of the CCD?

It's not just amazing that you could have this name dropping opportunity but that you do indeed have a link with history. That you can learn about someone like that first hand (eyewitness, second hand or whatever) is an amazing thing. There are some things that you can never really understand when reading about them in a book. I know it always comes as a shock when I can learn something from my parents.

I actually saw a different bird in this photo... More of a diving bird with its head in the lower left corner. I love ambiguous figures, and this one has artistic value also!

Yeah. I use both now, though not on such hallowed equipment, Oly OM1n and leica digilux 1. Both have there place and I am certain it will be a VERY long time before the much better quality becomes a the feature of digital. But if that happens, I will still want to play with chemicals.
Olympus OM-1 meter

Andersons in Brisbane Australia will only charge about $45 (Australian) to have a look at a camera and tell you exactly how much it will cost etc. If you were ever in Brisbane you can just rock up and they will probably take a look and tell you how much to fix that particular problem without even charging (which they did for me with my OM4T but that was a superficial problem). I do not know what they charge for anything with an OM1 but they are olympus certified and the chap that does the the OM work I believe has been there for many, many years.
