Zac: My last two visits to Orange were timed just right for the monthly gathering of used camera dealers at the Sequoia facility. I understand you are in San Francisco. These gatherings of used camera sellers & buyers probably occur in your area as well. They have it all.

Hi: One of the more interesting of past camera makers. There is a book on this companies history. Can't recall title or author. My favorite is the Universal Mercury II. It has a rotating disc shutter with a variable width slit. Boasted of a shutter speed of 1000 sec.

I've seen a lot cameras with this problem.

Yes, the leafs pivot on two pins and this leaf has slipped off one of the pins. I've never been able to fix one without a near total dissasembly. I've never fixed one with my fingers. The cause typically is oil on the leafs which makes them stick together and not slide freely. If that is the cause it should be cleaned thouroghly.

Continued use could do more damage, or not. I would have it repaired by someone experienced with Compurs.
