Dan, it's not ARM, it's Fujitsu FR. A few people have started looking at it, but no one has had time to get very far yet.

For purchases across borders it also keeps the tax man from getting his cut.

Fresh eggs have more spherical yolks; old eggs have wider, flatter yolks. (My parents once kept chickens.)

"<i>Perhaps you'd like to buy a nice Apple ][ for $6000? What? No?</i>"
<p>
No... but if you have a nice Apple I for $6000, drop me a line.

GS, Pentax is, for some strange reason, using an archive format that was popular years ago on pre- OS X Macs. Download Stuffit Expander from <a href="http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html">here</a> and use that to open the file (K10E130M.hqx).

<p>
Download DropUnLHA from <a href="http://www.fan.gr.jp/~sakai/lha.php">here</a> and use it to open the <i>Windows</i> version of the firmware (k10e130w.exe).

"<i>I compose in the finder and when look in the finder I don't "see" a potential crop.</i>"
<p>
At least one of the focusing screen vendors will do custom crop marks.

If you wish, replace "Mac" with "Solaris / AIX / Linux / <i>old</i> Mac / etc." Or replace Palatino and Book Antiqua with Frutiger and Segoe UI -- third verse, same as the first. The point is: designs are not protected, files are.

<blockquote><i>Typeface designs themselves are copyrighted.</i></blockquote>
<p>
Typeface designs are not copyrightable (at least in the US), but digital font files <i>are</i> copyrightable.
<p>
If you have a Windows box handy, take a look in the Fonts directory: 'Book Antiqua' is an exact rip-off of Hermann Zapf's Palatino, for which Microsoft paid Zapf not a cent. But it's illegal for you to copy that file to your Mac.

Just a reminder to NEVER use UPS ground (non-expedited) for cross-border shipments, because of UPS' extortionate "brokerage fee".

"Perhaps suicide bombers are just frustrated performance artists."

If I could find a way to sell front-row seats to postmodernists, <i>everyone</i> would win.

Now how am I going to procrastinate? Oops, I mean <i>here</i> how am I going to procrastinate?
<p>
Seriously though, this doesn't change the predicted useful lifetime of the universe, it just provides a possible explanation for it.

<i>Still the code isn't 'overly' readable.</i>
<p>
Hah.

You could use something like InkAid to print directly on the MDF, if it'll fit in your printer. I don't know whether MDF comes thin enough, but I know you can get rolls of wood veneer that should fit in any consumer printer than can take CDs.

<i>... and doing all that without any battery !</i>

The XR-S is K-mount...

The Canon A630/A640 focus to 1cm, have a tilt LCD, and with third-party free software can do automatic focus bracketing for <a href="http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK/Samples:_Unlimited_DOF">extended DOF</a>.

Well, y'know, aluminum vs aluminium, mesmerize vs mesmerise, poutine vs vindaloo, the usual.

Oh. Right-click in a text box (e.g. the one below) to bring up the context menu, and look for the 'Languages' sub-menu.

How 'bout all the α β & γ rays from radioactive lenses?

Pete, I meant here, in the photo.net forums. (I've seen the linked article.)

<i>"The issue is the the basic right of the child to be free from exploitation or victimisation."</i>

Is it? Jill Greenberg walks free, and my google-fu uncovers no protest here.

<blockquote><i>The reason that I put forward that its silly is that irrespective of the sensor being linear or not in its output there is no reason why these levels need to be encoded in a linear fashion when being transcribed as DATA</i></blockquote>
Yes, there is -- the output of the ADC (analog-to-digital converter) hardware is linear. If you store it otherwise, you waste space and/or throw away information.

<i>So if Pentax were going out of business...</i> I could afford good glass again.
