  1. GS, Pentax is, for some strange reason, using an archive format that was popular years ago on pre- OS X Macs. Download Stuffit Expander from <a href="http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html">here</a> and use that to open the file (K10E130M.hqx).

    Download DropUnLHA from <a href="http://www.fan.gr.jp/~sakai/lha.php">here</a> and use it to open the <i>Windows</i> version of the firmware (k10e130w.exe).

    Typeface designs are not copyrightable (at least in the US), but digital font files <i>are</i> copyrightable.

    If you have a Windows box handy, take a look in the Fonts directory: 'Book Antiqua' is an exact rip-off of Hermann Zapf's Palatino, for which Microsoft paid Zapf not a cent. But it's illegal for you to copy that file to your Mac.

    Yes, there is -- the output of the ADC (analog-to-digital converter) hardware is linear. If you store it otherwise, you waste space and/or throw away information.
