These are the Hoodoos in Drumheller, Alberta. Large enough to climb on,
though not recommended (it damages them). Hot, dry and also closest to
some of the richest dinosaur beds in North America. Suggestions for
improvements?

I should also mention, which I purposely left out earlier, that this was shot with a Samsung Galaxy S4 camera phone.
I think that the phone camera actually has more pixels than the old Canon D60 (think camera that came right after D30, early digital days~6.2Mpixels).

Thanks for the comment.
I understand where you are coming from... I suppose it would have been clearer had I said, I have not done any cropping, image layering or other blatant image manipulation (like putting a boat from another photo) into this one.
You mention that if I cropped out the branches and grass, it might look better. I do have a photo like that in this portfolio. Do you think that does the setting better justice?

Thanks for the comments. I haven't done anything to the photo, and yes it is actually a single photo.
The photo is 'on-camera processed' as a 'HDR-like' photo, so the trees are a bit lighter than the actual light available (to the naked eye).
If you look at some of the other photos in the set they show the darker treeline which is representative of the actual light levels.
In terms of cropping the photo, I will do some cropping to pull out the branches on the right.
I am afraid that if I crop out the grass on the left I will leave the boat stranded (no pun intended). I'm curious as to what others may have to say about it.
Also, I'm 6'9" so the POV, from the shore was at least 6'5". The tide was in as well, otherwise it would have been a couple of feet higher POV.

Post Thunderstorm. This was the natural light. Other 'lighter' images were
quasi HDR processed using builtin camera software.

Post Thunderstorm early evening. Not a thing was moving.
What was good/bad? What would you change?
Please look at the rest of the album for other photos during that same
window.

Post Thunderstorm, early evening. Lucky window of opportunity.
What is good/bad about the photo? What would you change?

Slightly different angle.. Thoughts?

Not sure what kind of flower, but thought it was an interesting view. What do
you think? Can this be cropped better?

I cropped tightly to remove a stone sidewall from the edge. I will try and give a bit more space, but I don't know how much space I have to work with.
Thanks!

I may have been at this for a bit, but not on the digital alteration side of things. I will try this..

Shot with 50mm/1.8 lens. Helpful hints? Better way to crop?

Any thoughts or comments?

Done through thick plexiglass window. Tried hard not to get the glare.
Thoughts on how to improve?

Depending on which monitor I view this on, its either brown or deeeeeep red.
Being a swede myself, I thought the red was brighter? Am I mistaken?
Great shot though! Valdigt bra!

Done this fall at a local sheep farm. Kids sitting on a restored 50's truck
(still used).
Thoughts or hints to make it better or how to shoot similar style shots
better?

Trying some still life. Just learning. Any hints appreciated.
Done with Flash, handheld, basic light overhead.

wasn't sure what to do with this one? Thoughts or suggestions?

Curious as to thoughts on this? Is it abstract? Good enough? Would you
change anything?

Great shot. However did you take the picture if you are swinging the child?

Very interesting composition. Was there any use of a filter or additional processing?
I did a similar style photo a few years back and it was not as favorably received. http://gallery.photo.net/photo/17493319-md.jpg
