1.
Hi all, I need some help please. I have messed up my Lightroom 5.7 . Trying to Export than re import etc. Now I have instead of 4230 pictures I have 17540. Can I select all 17000 and delete them from lightroom and then import the locator information from my weekly Lightroom back ups? I would not delete the actual images just remove them from Lightroom. I had forgotten that Lightroom does not store the actual images but just their location. Anyway what a mess. As far as I can tell there does not appear to be a easy to use duplicate image remover software on the Web. They all list all the files and then it is manually remove one by one. I did not move the actual pictures but just Export and then import in Lightroom. The export of course resulted in the subsequent message of file could not be found when trying to work on the image in Lightroom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Peter

 2.
Hi all, I have a question regarding importing Images from a CD into Lightroom 5.7.
Here is what is happening: the images are on a CD I import them into Lightroom. They show up on my screen in the Library module. All is well so far. When I remove the CD all the images are no longer available to be worked on. It says they are missing. When I re-insert the CD without importing them again all is well again and the missing image symbol goes away. Why do the images not stick after import? What am I doing wrong. I have tried the tutorials from Adobe but no luck . Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards Peter

 3.
Hi Sarah, " The only digital preservation strategies that make sense involve continuing to migrate to newer forms of storage from forms that are nearing obsolescence". This was the idea. Keep buying new then current hardware along with the then storage media. I believe it should be possible. In the future you would end up with a museum of old electronics. 'You might even charge admission to see it'. A lighthearted comment. Keep smiling.
4.
Dear Forum members, I think I have too many catalogs all the way from Lightroom 2. Unless I am in the correct Catalog the Images I am looking for are not there. Unless lightroom is opened with that catalog the Keyword section does not show what I like to use. Should I combine them all? If so how? It would make it so much easier when all the pictures are available when Lightroom is started rather than going thru the open recent list to find the one catalog that you need. Any help would be appreciated. I was trying to add the image Jpeg of all the catalogs but no luck. I was looking for a location prompt which would have been Desktop but it never did that it wanted a image URL whatever that means the image location is my desktop. Without the backups I have 11 Catalogs.
5.
Dear Forum members some help please. I have taken some pictures using my Lumix LX 5. Photo shop will not open the files when using edit in Photoshop from Lightroom 5.3. It says pictures may need Camera raw 8.3. I have downloaded 8.3 but still no go. The pictures open in Lightroom OK. Any advise to how to correct the problem would be much appreciated. All other ones from my Nikon D-200 open just fine when doing the same procedure.
6.
Hi all, i need some help please. I moved several JPEG images from the Cameras SD card to my hard drive and then moved them back again via Windows explorer to the SD card. Now the Camera does not recognize the Images anymore nor does the Photo processing machine at Walmart. The Camera says no images yet in Explorer they are still there. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. The Card was formatted in the Camera after the Images were transferred to the hard drive . Regards Peter

 7.
Thank you Charles, I will keep an eye on it to see if it happens again. If so, not much I can do about it other than send it to Nikon service. Lock up, as a result of just turning the camera on, should not happen. Regards Peter

 8.
Hi all, my relatively new P 7100 locked up by just turning it on. Nothing worked it just showed the view at the time in the view screen. In order to unlock it the battery had to be removed. After that the Camera worked OK again. This is the first time it happened after about 2 month of perfect usage. Has anyone else experienced this concern? I am not aware of a firmware update. Any suggestion are appreciated. Regards Peter

 9.
Thank you for the replies, I found a program called photo stamp remover. It is from Soft Orbits . It will delete the date stamp either by highlighting the area via rectangular marque tool or free form. The best way is to do it by color. In my case the stamp is orange so click on the orange numbers and tell the program to remove the date. It will also do batch processing. Cost $49.50 US Dollars. A Merry Christmas to all. Regards Peter
