Just in case anyone was wondering, the frog had been sleeping in the day lilly. its not a photoshop composite
-
-
i know the frog is dead center, but i thought it worked for this
composition witht hte frog comimg out of the center of the flower.
-
the fish is obviously not tack sharp. I kinda like the blur in the
fish because it implies motion.

very nice colors, and good composition. (i think the tree as a frame adds) On my monitor, and to my taste, it appears about a stop dark though. bring up levels in PS might add some detail in the shadows.
-
Carl, beautiful colors. Perhaps a more interesting foreground would strengthen the overall effect.

not bad composition. the light and haze though make the shot pretty forgetable. try to shoot more in the hour before and after sunrise, and the hour before and after sunset.
-
fantastic detail and sharpness. way above the basic bug on stick shot.

Nice photo. Too bad the detail in the sand is washed out. Shooting this in early morning or late evening light would likely balance the exposure more. Also, a graduated neutral density filter might have helped.
-
I find the blue a little distracting. I'm assuming its some sort of card placed to clean up the background? Also the fill flash ratio seems a little too strong, givng the photo a harsh and unatural effect.
-
nice shot. Perhaps a little fill light with a reflector or fill flash would have helped with the shadow

i like the composition and the soft background. a very pleasing portrait. I do agree with the previous poster that just a touch of fill, either from a flash or areflector might have added. One other nit; the horizon is not level. Maybe its the landscape photographer in me, but I find that to be a distraction. (a minor one though)

great sky, but it needs an interesting foreground to go with it. A graduated nuetral densitiy filter will allow you to get both exposed correctly
-
nice shot. I like how the tree in the foreground frames the mountains
-
nice shot. I like the soft background. Compositionally, you might try moving the flower a little down an to the left, so that it opens into the photo rather than out of it.
I agree with Carl, the flower could be a little sharper (unless you were going for a Monet type effect) With macro, everything is critical for sharpness, camera stabilitiy (tripod is a must), precise focus, no wind, etc.

Nice photo. Looks like this was done with medium depth of field. did you try any at the extremes? (e.g f/16 or so for all sharp front to back, and f 2.8 or so for just one sharp)
-
very nice. I like the line of the stairs moving through the photo. And the line through her head, torso and legs makes an s curve. very nicely done
-
Very nice. good composition. did you use some blur in photoshop to get the soft focus effect? Print this on water color paper and you'll have a work of art.
-
Well done. A horizontal framing might have worked for this shot to give the bird room to look into the frame. Of course the blank space on the vertical framing leaves space for the magazine mast head.
-
nice photo. you might try playing with some where you use flash and drag the shutter to get some sense of motion.

Light makes a photograph.
Dull light dull photograph.
I like the leading line of the road in the composition though.
