Wow, she's glowing! Excellent B/W conversion. I'd very much like to know how the conversion was done, if you don't mind sharing.

Wow! What is it?

Thank you brother, Tony and Vince for your kind words. Unfortunately, the boot is gone, I shot hastily to not let the mood slip away and was sloppy in composing.
He looked up at me after this and I didn't click as it didn't look as good in the viewfinder. He was too tired, and kind of dejected looking and, at the time, I didn't have enough experience how to put people at ease... so I didn't want to push it and make us both uncomfortable.
If it happened today, I'd probably ask him to hold the pose in exchange for a game, and would get to know him better... The shot is always less important than what is on the other side...
There is a pole or some such distraction on the left, and the rest of the red bag which is too distracting... I agree about the corner of the table, but there are too many corners already

Sweet! I'd leave a touch more space below the feet and straighten the image (as the dynamic equilibrium would seem to suggest).

An excellent capture with the D200 ! Someone debating about getting the D300 instead should see this. Any details on how you managed the shot? Prefocussing, panning...?

Very beautiful image! One of the things that makes a photograph memorable is an irreplaceable moment, and this has it... together with subject and very detailed composition..

Great feel and mood in this image! I like how the men are scattered and I have to look for them... truly feels they are part of the urban grunge.

Well seen and composed! I wish there was some more space on the sides so it could be cropped to a 8x10. Maybe another shot from a few steps to the right...

Beautiful image, even if it's not entirely clear from the image what they are doing. Thanks for the title and explanation. Love the contrast and tones.

"Real" or not... very beautiful, either way!

Critique... Well... I can feel the heat ! Works well in B/W to remove distractions.

The pop-up reminds me of E.T. Can't say I miss the pop-up on my P1.

Never seen anything like it, wonderful! To me, this is a documentary shot and I love every bit of it, even that stick with half an ice. Thanks for noticing, and sharing!

I can only wish you had an infrared camera on you that day. As for this image, the highlights are all squashed (on my browser) and thus the vibrancy is all lost. Perfect composition, maybe a touch of straightening required.

Too sharp? Too much contrast? Tones? Any other comments and suggestions?

A little more light on the bat would be nice. But then, I've never seen a flying bat clearly this close in any light, they just whiz by... Any details about how this was made would be.... illuminating. Very interesting capture! Congrats on the POW WOW!

Thank you John, I'm so overwhelmed by your words to formulate a coherent reply now.

Tony, Giuliano, Pierre, Claude, Bob, John: Many thanks for comments and kind words.
John, you're very right, and I never saw it. Hopefully some day I'll be wiser and more at peace than I am today, and be able to notice what is right in front of me.

Too much distracting black? not enough contrast? Flower hangs in midair and
does not pop? Too little context? Background colors and texture not right? Bad
shiny light? Flower has been murdered?
My first attempt with textures. Thanks for the click and comment, any comment.
