I agree the price is bit high, but you do get all of those other things.
Besides, seeing three of my photographs in the book makes it worth it!

Take a look at my "Portraits" folder here and on my website.

You could probably use some gels to color the flash.
Tape them over the flash or something.
You could also get one of the filter kits that are out there.
Good Luck! And Have Fun!

I'd recommend holgamods.com too.

I like Porta NC and VC 400 for color negative film.
Tri-X is good too.
If it's saturation you want, try slide film, ASA 100.
I would recommend buying some out dated slide film though, it's too expensive otherwise!
It works!

Check my Holga gallery to look at one I did with 35mm film.
It's a fun technique!
Good Luck!

He might have the screem you are looking for.

Randy, will take care of you.
His good at what he does. The manfuacturere of the Holga started doing what he has been doing for a long time! The tripod socket and the bulb setting anyway.
Holgamods.cm ROCKS!

All I can say is be careful when you move it from 16 to 12.
If you puncture the red filter, you tape over it and remember to advance the film at least 36 clicks between each frame.
OR..
You can buy new back on EBAY.
They are about 5 or 6 dollars plus shipping.
All I can say is just don't load your Holga in direct sun but you needn't do it in total darkness either. I do it in a dark corner of my home.
I would suggest ASA 400 film too.
I look forward to seeing stuff from you.
Good Luck!

Kodak Porta VC or NC 400..
The best film for a Holga!

Kodak Porta NC and VC 400 are all I use.
Although I have used some slide film with it too, old outdated stuff.
It was Ektachrome 400 ASA.
What little black and white I have used TMAX 400.
400 ASA is the only speed to use in my opinion..

Toycamera.com is a great toy camrea place.
Make sure you tape your Holga with black duct tape.
If you look on EBAY, you'll find special Holga Duct Tape.
Seriously!
All it is "regular duct tape".
