If I would consider a 65 mm lens it would be the f 4 Nikkor 65mm and not anything else!
Sometimes its important to get the best compromise!

Cheers Armin

If its exaxtly like the Horseman HF which is the pre Fa then not!
It need a 40.5mm Filtertread in the front!

Why are you not using 400 ASA Film for example Kodak TMY 400 gives very sharp and even better shadow details and 2 more f stops!
Then you should get f 16 easy with one flash!

My 2 cents, Armin

I vote for a 75 mm I also had as my first lens a 135mm for 3-4 years only my second was the f 4,5 75mm Nikkor and still use it more then my later 90mm but I also use the 47 mm more then the 90mm.
If the camera can handle the 75mm then I would take it!!!

Cheers Armin

I know the only right answer;--))))
I recommand a Sinar because its the only camera with a modern behind the lens shutter, so you can use any old portait
lens in front of thad shutter and get flash synchro and reliable times etc.
You only have to switch the back from 4x5 to 8x10 with the bellows and you can expand the camera in 4x5 with the sliding
back to a very fast shooting camera!!!
Sorry but I like the Ebony's but of course not in studio use just outside they are great!!!
Cheers Armin

No you really need a Sinar cable release!
Cheers Armin

The Rodenstock is an 80° lens and has a stated diameter of 352 mm covering power and this is can be expanded with stoping
down more then f 22!

Start to use the Fuji's Quickload and we will have them a bit longer!
I still have some Kodak in the freezer, which I will use the next 3-4 years!

And yes its a cult lens and get better und better prices on ebay!!!!

I would take the Nikkor because it does not get schneideritis!

Hi
I worked for 3 years als aero photog in Switzerland with a Linhof Aerotronica 6x9 cm my most used shutter speed on this
cam was 1/800 sec. und sometimes 1/500 from a helicopter.
If I would do a shooting for not larger pictures then about A3 format I would at the moment hire a Canon with 21 Megapixels
and a Lens with IS!
Very soon I would use the Nikon 24 MP camera with a Nikon VR lens!
Only if you need the pics really large then I would use a 4x5!
Just my 2 cents, Armin Seeholzer

For the very soft portraits he used a Struss lens. Karl Struss was also photographer and later
also a very famous movie camera man!

HI Michael
He can't use a lense like the APO Sironar S on the FA it has the smallest lensboard I know
80x80mm. With the opening in the frontstandart of 65mm the Sironar S can't normaly
mounted! The only lenses at f 5,6 which fit directly is the Sironar N or the Nikkor W.
And of course all the slower lenses already stated!

Hi die F 1 and F2 are film based bad you can put a digital back on them if you buy an
adapter.
The f 3 and P 3 are made for digital backs but you also can put a RFH back to them and
use Rollfilm. Armin
-
I would recomand a 75mm for landscape not a 65mm which has almost no possibilitis of
shift etc.
Or if you have the money the 72 XL is of course a very fine lens!
My 2 cents Armin J. Seeholzer

HI
Or buy just a new one from Sinar for some 19 Swiss bucks!

Hi I also like this lens much for portraits, mine is at f 5.5 a bit soft but at f 8 it gets sharp and at f 16 its deadly sharp!
So its the best in one lens!

Cheers Armin
