  1. <p>I have had the AF-S squeak on two lenses, a 17-35/2.8 and 28-70/2.8. The first one failed completely and the AF-S motor had to be replaced at a cost of around 5000DKK (approx 800USD in todays rates). The 28-70 fails intermittently so I suspect it's going to fail completely too at some point, and then I'll replace it with a 24-70/2.8...<br>

<br /> My point is that you should definitely not consider the squeak something that may just go away! Additionally, I seem to recall that there are several threads on the AF-S squeak in this forum.<br>

    Cheers,<br />Anders</p>

  2. <p>Going with the "early" theme: This is Flekkefjord in Norway, us arriving at something like 0300 in the morning after driving from Copenhagen - going diving in about 6 or 7 hours :-)<br>

  3. <p>Hi Cristian,<br>

    Germany: www.isarfoto.com<br>

    UK: warehouseexpress.com<br>

I've purchased from both these shops several times in the past and would have no reservations doing so again.<br>

  4. Michael,

Obviously the need for using FP comes from the need for faster shutterspeeds, which is of course closely coupled to shallow(er) DOF :-)

I can't really give you any qualitative info on flash output as a function of aperture/shutterspeed, but the SB80DX can - It continously tells you an effective distance as a function of the current shutterspeed/aperture combination when in FP mode :-)

    Regards,

    Anders

  5. Jorgen, please be aware that the E-model teleconverters will not mate with the non-AFS/AFI lenses (AFG also?). If you want to use either with a 180mm/2.8 you will need to file off a small metal thingy tab in the TC...

Search the forums and you will file plenty of references to this and probably also pictures of the "offender" ;-)

    Regards,

    Anders
