  1. Webphota is new name of ORWO company. OWRO was located in East Germany, they produced NP15, NP22 and NP27 films (also NP20 in the past), paper, chemicals and some lith films. As far as I know, emulsions remains the same under new name. I used ORWO films in the past, now I use Webphota. They are cheap here and available in 13x18 cm.

Forte, on the other hand, is Hungarian company. I never used their films, but papers are first class.

I think that there is no connection between those two companies.

  2. Music means a lot to me. Almost as much as photography. And I'd add another vote for Led Zeppelin. In the darkroom I listen more relaxing music, like Pink Floyd, The Can, some blues, while in studio I like some dinamics, like Metallica, Dream Theater, Deep Purple,...

  3. I had the same problem and I just bought 40.5-52 stepping ring, I

think from Kaiser, Germany. It is not quite top quality, but I never

had any problems unscrewing it. And Cokin makes P ring for 52mm

    diameter.

  4. Chris, it is possible to make such filter by yourself. Try Cokin UV

filter and attach some black paper on it so you block bright areas.

Make first exposure with this filter, say 1/30, then remove filter

and make second exposure, say 1/250. I tried this and it works, but

takes some time to cut masks, which are really small, even for bigger

areas. It helps a bit if you put filter on a bigger distance to the

lens and it is easier to work with wideangles.

    Regards,

  5. Camera is not so heavy, but for me it is much easier to hold 35mm

camera with heavy lense and good grip or Rolleiflex SL66 with tele

lens than Technika 23. Maybe just because I rarely use Linhof

handheld and the grip is on the left side. I can hold heavy 35mm gear

for hours, but Tecnika only for short time. Maybe other users have

    different experiences.

  6. I used this film mostly at higher speeds in 35mm format. It is

excellent in contrasty lights, like concerts and theatre. It also

pushes well. Grain is very small but not among the sharpest. I print

it normally on multigrade paper with excellent results, but it prints

different from ordinary b&w films. You just have to get used to it.

  7. I never noticed any distortion at developing films which was exposed

some weeks before. Last year I found a film which was exposed about

15 years ago and developed it. Negatives were pretty thin, about 2

stops, they looked as if they were underexposed, which probably means

that you will lose details in shadows first if you will wait too long.

  8. I like SA 8/121, which is similair to 24mm at 35mm format. And this

lense also allows you a lot of movements. Sironar N 5.6/180 is

moderate wide angle with some movements, but incredibly sharp, for my

taste it is too sharp for photographing people. For still life and

    portraits I use Nikkor M 9/300.

  9. I also do not worry about stolen jpegs, I even do not add copyright

notice since it is very easy to remove it with cropping. However I am

awared of stealing. I know some newspapers which permanently print

jpegs downloaded from internet without permission. You cannot avoid

it just like musicians cannot stop copying and unauthorizied

broadcasting their music. I simply do not care much even if I notice

some of my photos in a newspaper, published without asking. There is

usually so little money involved that I rather live happy and with as

little worry as possible than have a stress for little things. I hope

    you got the point.

    Best regards!
