Rather interesting abstract. Would give the face at the bottom a bit more room maybe?

Just need to get in a bit closer but the exposure is good and the light in the eyes is good. Maybe a vertical shot too.

Lovely expression, I'd like to see a little light in the eyes though.

Incredible stuff!

This is nice, reminds me of (mine):

Hard yet soft.

Nice that the eyes are sharp. Gives him (her? somehow a Frog never seems like a 'her' to me!) a nice coming out of the murk feel.

Superb colour.

Maybe you want to crop in more on your subject, remove some of the clutter...

My Gran

Hi owen
You've got some nice abstracts in your folder, but this portrait needs some work! A few basic tips - first try and get your flash above the lense when shooting vertical portraits with flash - this will put that big shadow nicely behind your gran.
This image is much too gray - if you use film, try rating your film at half its acutal speed (ie 400 film becomes 200) - this will cause you to generally 'overexpose' and will help lift your skin tones up to a nicer level than this muddy gray. If you have photoshop, or an equivalent, try using an 's' shaped curve in the curves dialog to increase the contrast...
