this winter I traveled through India for 6 weeks taking about 3000 digital shots (RAW format, ~ 6.5 MB per photo) with my Canon D60. For storing them I used a X-Drive portable harddisk drive, it's small and light. For security reasons I had 2 HD's with 40 GB to get 2 identical copies of the shots. It took only about half an hour to download 1 MB from the memory card to the HD's included the exchange of the disks. It is also a good idea to bring a spare battery for the disk drive (and a lot for the camera) with you. Regards, Peter.

Ratings are still withdrawn! The rating number on "Vineyards (20030130_0089)" in my landscape folder has dropped from 11 to 10 today (26.06.2003). Regards.

Brian, thanks for your information that the ratings are deleted automatically when the corresponding photos are deleted. I also think it was a good idea to disable the "Manage Ratings" feature in order to stop that childish practices. Regards, Peter.

What is going on with the member's ratings on photo.net?

 

 

Within a couple of months at least 300 ratings that I have given to

other member's photos have disappeard continuously (2 since

yesterday). On the other hand, ratings of my own photos - particulary

of high rated photos having 11 or 12 ratings - have been withdrawn. Is

there something wrong with the database or could there be anybody who

has access to the member accounts?
