keith, beutifull colours and composition.. I love that the lipstick almost matches the microphone and the blown out higlights on the mike give it a very 50's movie star type feel
  1. The tone change makes the picture seem a lot more "open" .. it doesn't seem alot more in focus but it does look sharper.. all in all i think this version looks a lot more menacing than the original.. the harsher high lights and tha more pronounced grain.. I think this is a better version.
  2. JJ,

Can I ask how you did these borders? is it a case of building them by hand or did you PS it, or do you get you lab to do them? I've seen them around and I've always been curious. I love the picture, he looks like a real character.. like a wooly jumper with eyes and a nose, or a sock or something.

Peter, great detail and exposure, I love the way her hair works as part of a softer frame.

Why did you decide to split her face down the centre?

  3. Erik, the tones/colour/lighting is very striking in this picture I like that alot, also the grain is nice aswell. WHat kind of lighting setup did you use to achieve this or what kind of adjustments did you make in photoshop.

    Excellent picture.

  4. Lovely picture, nice detail in the architecture, how difficult is it to find somewhere to get the scala proccessesd? To blur the people would require a tripod which will probably get you in trouble, same way they don't allow photo's in airports etc....

Fabulous portrait Gary, I love the stray hair I think it adds to the personality of the picture, but the knot on her right shoulder and all the catchlights in her left eye I find a bit distracting. Excellent portrait.

Tal, I love the framing in this and the expression and general demeanor of the model. she seems so deflated. Couple of things though. The white piece of hair at the top is quite distracting and keeps pulling my eye away from her face, also the forhead and chest seem strange, at first i thought it may be problem with the scan but this is a digital pic yeah? they seem like they are zoomed into or you did some cloning to remove something. it would be nicer I think it they were in focus. However all that aside I like the character the model has portrayed and I love the framing of the face with the wet and bedraggled hair.

    Excellent
