  1. I need to make a portfolio and I have noticed that all the pre-made books I've seen in art

stores and online are vertical in nature. Most of my compositions are horizontal, I will

primary be marketing towards architects and not editorial. What are the thoughts on using

a horizontal portfolio? Costs are a concern so I am looking for a pre-made portfolio found

in an art store how does on get their name embossed on it or what suggestions can you

give about how to label the book? any links to info on this topic would be very appreciated

and thanks for your insights. jeff

  2. Thanks Randy, both for your response and for allowing me to jump on your post, just

figured it was better than starting a new thread. I was hoping some of the others would

    chime in as well.

How much size does the profile contribute to an image's file? Is it redundant to have the

profile if it's sRGB anyways? I understand that save to web takes out any file info, but can I

turn of any file preview and just save as to keep the profile?

    This is a cool page:

    http://www.color.org/version4html.html

What compression do people suggest ( I realize this is subjective) to have the best quality

image displayed on the web? If not a definite answer at least to hear your thoughts. thanks

    again jeff

  3. I too am interested in this question. My question isn't in regards to loading images to this

site but just onto the web in general and I understand that the image needs to be sRgb.

What is the difference between saving an image in PS cs as a jpg verses save for web, with

the idea that both the compression levels are set to medium and optimized? Also what

info is stripped out? thanks for any insights and thanks for the link to gballard.net lots of

    great info there. jeff

  4. thanks for all the responses. Tried bleach and then windex (No not at the same time) but

nothing worked. This sucks cause the filter is only two years old & I just used it the week

before. But thanks for all the ideas. jeff

  5. I've got white spots all over a B+W filter. I assume they are mold although I don't know

how to check, but seeing that I haven't been around anyone spraying paint I can't imagine

what else they could be. This was a very expensive filter, made for an ultra-wide lens. Is

there anyway to clean it? I've tried Zeiss cleaner and pure alcohol.

Please excuse this post if this has been asked before I did a search, but nothing relevant

seemed to come up. Thanks for any insights jeff

  6. I have finally gotten into a show, years from my galley management class at college, yes

I'm slow. I can not remember what info I need to have on that little card that sits off

to the side of the print. Title, date, my name, price, medium? anything else? Also any ideas

on how to lay it out, where does the name go in

    relation to the title?

Finally I am showing my photographs printed from an Epson inkjet printer (pigment ink)

on archival matte paper. Not wanting to startup a debate that it's not a "true" giclee print.

Any ideas on what to call an inkjet print without calling it an inkjet print?

thanks for any and all help, jeff

ps. Please excuse if this has been discussed before, I'm sure it has, however I just don't

seem to understand the proper search code.

  7. I am trying to find info on the grid screen for the 1N. Where could I find one for

sale? What is it's model number or name? Information about it's installation? Went

to the local camera shop and got the that's impossible speel, cause the cameras

outdated. Any advice, information, or links are greatly appreciated. thanks jeff

  8. Hi all, I'm looking for a 180mm lens for my 4x5, I shoot mostly architecture &

landscapes. I keep coming across the symmar s lens and have this question.

Schneider's symmar - S lens what does the S stand for and what where these lenses

intended to be used as? I've been to schneider's site and can't seem to find the info.

Thanks in advance for your help. jeff

  9. I thought the big news with this film was it's fourth layer ability to 'see' florescent

light? I used some to shoot some night shots that are very green on the 50iso and

were green on the 100f. Have you guys noticed a difference in shooting mixed

    lighting scenes?

  10. I too find Linhof's recessed board to be aggravating (using a screwdriver to

adjust the aperture!?) and am wondering if anybody knows whether an off

brand board for the Linhof Technica series has a wider recessed opening? It

seems that their is still some room the opening could have.
