This shot is done to death. Having said that however, I still take pictures like this because there is always the hope that it will look somehow better or different.

I would have shot from a lower angle, looking up to emphasize the detail in the ceiling, or from one side of the hall rather than the center to make it more interesting to look at. The B&W treatment is nice, but perhaps a de-saturation of the colours without losing them would have worked a bit better?

mebe you could have shot that person cut-off on the left of the frame while they were in the centre to make it more interesting as well...
