Rakesh,
I have the basic Bogen tripod (and another carbon fiber mainly for travelling light), but for < $150, you can get a tripod and a generic ball-head. I bought the bogen for ~$90 and a "grip-head" (bogen) for ~$80. I love the grip-head and highly recommend it. Look up eBay and see if you can find one.
All the best!!

o.k. I wrote to mypublisher.com and they told me that they are currently using the HP Indigo 3000 press.
If you contact them individually, they will provide you with the profile. Guess they are reluctant to leave it out on the net for fear of folks not understanding the usage (not sure if I *completely* agree as one can always put in diclaimers and educate the customer).
Anyway, for those that want to soft-proof, email them and they will send you the profile.
Thanks,

I have a question about the cover for all these books. Do they do a jacket for you (even on mypublisherPRO.com)? Or do you have to live with the bland cover with no jacket?
Also, I have been lookign for a profile, with no luck! :/ Any kind soul out there to point us to the URL please?
Thanks,

To answer George, in these kinds of exhibitions, the butterflies are pretty much all around and at times, very close. Hwever, if it was one or the rother lens, I'd take my zoom. If you can take both, I'd highly recommend it.
Yes, certainly do NOT forget either a monopod (I have one with a small ball-and-socket from B&H for about $20) or an inconspicuous tripod.
Have fun! Do'nt forget to look up from the viewfinder at times to see the plethora of these insects with dazling colors! :)

I'd venture to say that waht Jose has said will get you further. Couple that by making sure that the camera is on a VERY stable surface (if not a bean bag on the ground/parapet then a VERY stable tripod) use the timer and hat tip, move the hat, but don't touch the tripod or move from where you stand. asically, do whatever to reduce vibrations being transmitted to the camera will result in the sharpest.
Oh, almost forgot, don't close the aperture too much (f/22, f/32 etc.) either. stay in the 'sweet spot' of the aperture. Hope that that helps!

I have heard of CD-R media that have 'gold' in them to be superior. I have been using the old 2x CD-Rs made by Sony for images and the new 40x ones made by God-knows-who forother stuff.
What do others use?

I have seen Altmira's Genuine Fractals and Lurawave samples of compression and they both leave me amazed that the fractals and wavelet technologies can do. I am thinking of saving it in one of the two formats- in addition to- the tiff format, this way I will be able to decompress them to a larger size later on if I need to.
Anyone else tired these formats to store? If so, which one do you prefer?

I think Sam M-M is on the right track!
I for one have a 2-tier system for my clients. Once they view the images in thier "album" they get 2 choices-- either have the image linked directly to printing services such as Shutterfly (Shutterfly has incidentaly stopped support for this web-based printing but some of us are still linked to it) and for others who want the highest quality, I let them specify the printing service and I profile my image and then send it off for printing or print it myself.
Just my ?2
