Oops. Thanks for your response. It was entirely my fault, I wasn't
turning the adapter ring all the way around - I stopped when it got a
little stiff! Thanks for the tip. :) It now works perfectly!

I have a Mamiya 7II and a 65mm f4 lens. Recently, I acquired a Mamiya
7II polariser which specifically said it would fit lenses for my
brand of camera. The 65mm lens has a 58mm filter size.
The polariser comes with an adapter ring for 58-mm lenses. I followed
the booklet's instructions, mounting the adapter (with the text
facing the lens) and with the white triangle aligned with the red
line on the lens. However, as soon as the adapter ring clicks into
place, a small pin pops out on the opposite end of the ring.
As I turn the ring to lock it into place, this pin is still
protruding a few millimetres from the ring. This tiny pin prevents me
from slipping the polariser ring onto the adapter/lens combination. I
cannot see any way I can push down the pin either. Has anyone else
encountered this problem, or is this a flaw with my adapter ring?
Any answers appreciated. I am at the end of my tether here!

Ahem. Here's my attempt to shine some more light through Jason's foggy geography: I nearly flattened a red squirrel driving on the road to Keswick from Rosthwaite, by the shores of Derwentwater. Those people with an A-Z roadmap can look up the name of the road, but there is only one main road so it shouldn't be hard to locate. But your chances of finding any red squirrels in abundance there are probably slim, unless you happen to be driving a noisy car and breaking the speed limit (slightly). Then the lure of whirring car tyres can be irresistable to a depressed squirrel intent on ending it all.
Sorry, this post is probably of no help at all!
