powerful image, very nice ligthning indeed! May be the knee at the bottom of the image could be removed to avoid distraction.

Nice first submission. On the right side, imho the shoot could look even better by modifying the position of her left hand (may be laying flat on her leg above the tatoo?), as well as the position of her left foot (may be just laying parallel to the right foot instead of having one toe above it).
my 2 cents,
T.

If only the seagul had been a couple of feet higher... Now my eye is confused about the subject of this picture: The seagul or the peaceful boats?

The shot was taken late afternoon on one of the SF pears with a
telephoto lens. The color just comes I think from the polution of the
air. This picture is part of a larger serie on the Golden Gate
visible on this site.
I took three shots of these kind:
* One without the fischerman nor the wall.
* One more cropped where you can just see the bust of the fisherman
and his fishing pole (no wall)
* This one.
I picked this one as the Golden was more identifiable and the shot
was not as dull as the Golden Gate alone.
You comments and ratings would be greatly appreciated.

The sky fill-in with a blue gradient in a little too obvious other than that good shot :).

I find distracting that the person on the picture is not looking at the farmhouse(?) or the camera, making me wonder what was that interesting thing she is looking at.

I like this picture: the lightning, the slow shutter speed, and the expression/position of the artist are just great. The fact that you seem at the same height of him, I think also helps in the aestetic of the shot.
I'm just a little disturbed by the missing left hand/arm. IMHO may be an horizontal picture would have been better, but then the impression of high could have been lost. May be the choice of a wider angle could have been jusdicious... That said it is always easier to critize after the fact, and we know very little the condition of the shot and your limitations.

Very nice shot indeed. It might be fair to mention that this is a "remake" of an Howard Schatz's picture (which made the cover of his book Passion & Line").
Cheers,
T.
