What everyone else has said goes for me too. What I wanted to share were the comments of a coworker who isn't as versed in the photographic arts as those who frequent this forum. "What is that?" "The stars." Blank stares. "What do you mean the stars? How did they do that?" "You just take a really long picture all night, and the motion of the earth is captured on film." "Wow." Lots of oos and ahhs. This is one of those images that everyone will stop and look at at and wonder a little. Very well done.

IMHO, not enough bay to be a picture of the bay. The foreground is very messy and nothing really stands out, especially not the bay. Exposure looks good though.

Why was it that when I first saw this picture I immediately though 'Portugal'? This tradition is a new one to me as well. I especially like the shutter speed used. Gives just a little bit of movement from the men and the bull. Now I have to visit this town. Muito obrigado.

Onde fica este prédio? Não me é desconhecido.

I like the sense of motion. Nice low angle on the sun too. The diagonal elements introduced by the shadows, and to the lesser extent the concrete, keep my eyes moving through the frame. Very dynamic. Good execution. Got to love the fe2/24mm combo. One of my favorites. Set it and forget it!

That upper left corner bothers me, but I agree that you couldn't crop this much more. I would like to see a little more detail in those highlights in the water, but I imagine it's probably the result of scanning. Composition wise I would like to see the top of the waterfall more parallel with the edge of the frame. Seems to creep up a bit towards the right edge. Good perpendicular on the that wall. Final verdict: go shoot some more!

How close were you to this tiny 'model' with the 50mm lens? Or is this a crop from a larger image?

É, não é? A calçada, o comboio.... Tantas saudades.
