I agree with Jeff - it's an overused subject, and for that reason I hesitated to photograph it, let alone post it. But as someone who lives less than a mile away from the bridge, I see its many moods, most of which the postcards fail to capture, and I was determined to share it with everyone in a new way!

Here's why it might be different:

1. B&W, not color -- so no emphasis on the bridge's orange color.

2. Bridge towers and cables in silhouette -- also unusual.

3. No SF skyline in the background. I left it out to emphasize the fog and the bridge's relative isolation, considering its proximity to a large city.

4. Dark, cloudy mood. Not likely to be selected by the SF Chamber of Commerce for their next brochure!

It seems to have worked, based on the response, and I thank you for your kind ratings and comments. -- JZ
