Hi,
Do any of you jobo processor users (for 45) out there have any opinions on which
model to get? Or where to get them used and slightly cheaper?
Also, what type of polaroid film back works on an early model Linhof tech III? And
what type of polaroid film?
Tried the search button, but it seemed to have turned up nothing.
thanks

I actually just found a lab who would hand develop B&W film at $4 a roll. Maybe I'll do
that, and send the negs.
Developing it myself would be nice, and I'm trying to find a darkroom, but most high
schools and colleges seem to be closed at the time I'm going.
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm going to be in Honolulu in mid June, and then spending the rest of the summer in
New York. What's the best way for me to ship exposed 120 B&W tri-x film? Should I
fedex or UPS it? How should I package the film (i.e. in ziplock bags with drying agents
or something else)?
On a similar note, does removing the protective foil wrapper make it easier to get a
handcheck at the airport?
Thanks!

Ad Aware for P.C. worked the best for me.
Selecting the no pop up option in Safari (Mac) is great too.

Hi,
I switched to digital because I was shooting color, almost $500 worth of stuff a
quarter, for my art class. I edit all my work on the computer. It's so great. I think I still
have to work out some kinks in my workflow, but I think, for me a college student, it's
a great solution. I use my Leica as a diary camera with black and white film that I
develop and scan whenever. Also, I get money for covering events. They usually
expect digital images. So now, I get to keep most of it, as oppposed to sinking it all
to cover film and chemicals.
I think the workflow takes some getting use to. It's great for me because it's a more
efficient use of my time, since as a student, I'm supposed to be "studying" because
it's "college" :)

Yeah, I think "All risk" is what I mean. I also want it separate because I'm worried
about it affecting my homeowner insurance in the future. So I'll look at the
Professional Photographers Insurance for equipment. Does anybody have any
companies they recommend?

Hey all,
I'm looking to insure my cameras with some form of "at risk" insurance policy, before
leaving on my summer internships. Does anybody know where to go? I've asked State
Farm and All State, and they don't have anything like that, apparently.
Thanks!

Hey, Just thought I let you guys know. I was wandering around in a gallery on university, and I was told that Kennerly was doing a book reception for Photo Du Jour (he shot a whole year's worth of images on a Mamiya 7 w/ 43mm lens *BIG leica :) * ).
Here's the info:

Sam,
Might I suggest a Crumpler O Lord Camera bag. It's big enough and very well padded.
Ken
-
yes, it is a tele-elmarit.
so, I guess the verdict is that it's ok? should it even do that? or am I freakishly strong :P ?
Ken
-
it's a 90mm/2.8 elmarit-M with a serial number of 3309***, made in canada..
does this qualify as an older lens?

Hi,
as I was trying to unscrew the filter, part of the lens barrel came loose and started twisting off. I quickly twisted it back somewhat tightly. Has anybody had this experience, and what should I do?
Ken
-
Does it?
Leica 90mm/2.8 w/ hood w/ b&w filter would it vignette?
sorry, i couldn't find the manual to a lens my uncle loaned me.
thanks

Just picked up a Powerbook G4 since my 3 year old IBM laptop is on its last legs. I'm always a sucker for laptops with titanium. :)
But I do think that Windows 2000 is more stable than Windows XP, 98 or ME.

Re: Preston Merchant: If you have to get it developed in some faraway clime, the tech has probably seen it before and won't screw it up.
Interesting story: I was in Beijing and tried to get my film souped at Tibet Dipper in the HaiDian area, and the labby looked at my rolls of TMAX 400 and 100, but was utterly confused by Plus-X and Tri-X. He actually called me up later and left a msg to ask for development times for them in Tmax developer. I actually didn't know at the time. But they later developed it in D76, and the negs were great. So yeah, definitely fool-proof.

Is this common? The panel's not as securely attached to the body as
the 50/1.4 but there's definitely some give if one pushes on the
panel.

I would if I didn't have to send my film to Australia to get it processed. :)
Thanks! Jay's answer was the one I recall seeing. As usual, he is truely knowledgable and extremely helpful. Not that the others who did reply weren't. You were all helpful. Thank you. :)

Hi,
I just remember seeing a post on how to rate certain slide films to
mimic the look of, say K64, but I can't find it. Can anybody tell me
the guidelines for this again?
