How about this one? I noticed this caterpillar in the garden on a
cloudy day and took a macro shot about it while it was disguising
itself among leaves.

I guess that the 300mm tele handheld is the main culprit for lacking sharpness. This photo was taken from the second floor window of my house and I didn't have much time to think about the background here. (The morning light cone on the snow was moving really fast and I noticed this subject too late for any fine adjustments.)
The bluish overcast on the shadowy parts comes from the bright blue sky and the original slide was quite blue too. Anyway, I personally like this shot a lot, because the moment was so instantaneous and I managed to take a photo about it. Perhaps I'll try again this kind of photography when I get the opportunity. Thank you for your comments and ratings.

A quickly passing light in the snow. What do you think about this
shot?
-
I think this photo needs cropping from the sides and the top. Maybe something like this (see new_crop.jpg) would concentrate the viever's interest to the main subject without loosing interesting details.

I liked the relation with the foreground and the background in this photo (nice 3D effect). This shot works also in sideways: the empty space on the left contrasts to the nearby tree on the right. The colors and subtle foggy lightning both suits well to the peaceful fall impression and the overall composition is quite nice. Maybe slight cropping from the top could intensify this shot, but this is just a suggestion.

Beautiful pastel colors and very nice composition makes a great shot. I liked this photo a lot.

The horizon is tilted to the right and I would have corrected this with an image editing software. Maybe this photo needs some cropping from the right side too (the branches there aren't that good looking although they frame this shot quite nicely). I think this is a nice composition from a great landscape, but it needs another try with different (more dramatic) lightning conditions to become even better...

This photo relies on the contrast of strong colors and simultaneously very peaceful composition. Nice 3D effect plus interesting tree figures with beautiful and harmonic colors make a perfect combination. Well accomplished!

This photo is better with originality than aesthetically I think. You have a great idea to photograph butterflies on the fly with long exposure times and following the subject, but the result isn't best possible. For example I wish the butterflies could be little sharper in the photo. Anyway, this is a good photo subject/effort worth another try. Thanks for sharing :-)

An old-fashioned scenery from Finnish countryside and changing times.
Small farms and farm lands aren't anymore profitable here, but they
are rewarding photo subjects.

Just about perfect shot from an ordinary sunset scenery. A well seen situation and skillfully accomplished.
-
What about this one? This photo comes from the spruce top...
-
I think this photo needs a slight cropping from the top, but everything else is just fine. I like the composition and the (almost) dark athmosphere in this shot just before the sunrise. Well captured.
-
Look for the Latin name from the technical details, which I gave with this photo. (I don't know the English name for this flower and Finnish name "kangasvuokko" doesn't mean a thing to most of Photo.net's visitors ;-)

You got a nice set of scanty colors in your photo and my only minus comes from the partially burned-out sky. The man on a shore is essential for this photo's composition. A well seen image, I think.

It's a beatiful photo about the Aurora Borealis and I like it quite a lot. But it can be improved by a little cropping from the bottom. I would have also touched the photo with some image editing program so that the light reflections on the water were removed (they disturb at least my eyes). See the touched version of your photo enclosed above to see the difference.

I agree to the Phil's "I'd be inclined to turn it into a square format by cropping just above the mountain tops" comment. Or I would take it even further to a slightly horizontal photo, if there is enough scenery on the left/right sides of this cropping. The mist in the shadowy valley is really beautiful and the sun on the mountain tops is the "high-grade-finishing" here (the sky above these parts is quite needless here, I think). Well done.
-
In addition to previous comments: there's interesting rhythm between the wings and the unfocused background. Well handled situation.

This gray spring day's bird photo seems to get mixed ratings... So,
I'm curious: what's good in it and what's not?
-
Nice composition; especially the sky with the background mountains are very nice. A little bit surreal athmosphere here, but the entity is very beautiful to my eyes. I even liked the faded colors of this shot.
BTW, This shot is better than this one.
-
I liked the "Lord of the Rings" book and I like this photo also, because it reminds me about the LOTR's scenery I have imagined :-) Composition and colors of this photo are both very nice, but I think the photo is tilted too much to the right (look at the background shore/forest to see this). Anyway, a well captured situation among "giant" trees...
-
A well seen and beautifully colored photo, but I think it could be better with a different composition. Maybe some rotation with the camera (see my rotated version of your photo) could do the trick. The center biased composition is quite uninteresting. Anyway, I liked your version too.
-
In my opinion the composition concentrates too much to the brook section. Maybe you could have moved one step to the right and take the photo a little bit more to the left side. (The left bank with trees is more interesting than the right side brushwood.) The light conditions are very nice here and the overall colors are peaceful and enjoyable. Also the 3D impression in your photo works quite well.

Nice layers and aerial perspective, but I think this photo could be better if it was taken horizontally.
A caterpillar in disguise
in Nature
Posted
Just in case here's the hideout location. The caterpillar stayed in this position for about half an hour and when I checked it later it was gone. Just one detail from endless richness of the nature (even on your home yard).
