i really appreciated your comments. as i was using a rangefinder like camera, i had a bit trouble in making sure the whole seagull was in the frame and it would be nicer, in my opinion to have the whole seagull. but i was doing it in a rush and the sun was right behind my parents and i was worrying more about getting the exposure correctly. yes, it would also be great if i have faster shutter speed to. about the grain, i am not sure if it is my scanner. i was using an epson 2450 and i used photoshop to compress the jpeg to level 5 (so that the file gets smaller). i will probably get a print from a photo lab and see if the print has less grain or not.
yes, that camera is quite cheap to own and very fun to play with. i bought the cosina brand bessa-l, which costed me $125 at the time when i bought it. i saw someone selling that at $100 at ebay. the lens i got it from an netherland guy at $250. usually it goes like $350 in the US. so, the total cost is less than USD $400 and i got a nice set of super wide angle set. i strongly recommend that camera. may be when i get more money, i will try the 12mm one.

Narrows 2
in Nature
Posted
I strongly recommend to bring a super wide angle to this trail
called Narrows in Zion National Park. Between late morning and
early afternoon, the inner gorge will have interesting lighting.
for those who like challenging shots, i am sure they can find plenty
in there.. as the contrast is high..
