I'd like to see more space beteween the subject and the background. I'd also shoot with a wider aperture, which would strengthen the prominence of the subject by causing the background to move out of the focus field.
I almost always shoot portraits "wide open" for the aforementioned reason and to maximize shutter speed. Whether or not you like the shallow focus, though, is strictly a personal preference. However, you'll never get a truly shallow focus with f.3.3 unless there is substantial distance between the subject and the background.
