Super-Tele rental for Olympic and Rainier NP? in Travel Posted August 19, 2004 I am considering renting a large telephoto (400mm or 500mm) for my Nikon D100 to photograph birds and other wildlife on the Olympic peninsula and Rainier National Park. I expect to see a lot of birds at the Dungeness Spit wildlife refuge near Port Angeles, but not sure how much else we will see on the rest of trip - so is it worth it to rent a big lens for this trip, or stick with my 80-200, or possibly rent the 80-400VR which is not as exciting, but cheaper than the big lenses? Thanks!
