It's from using a diffuser on the enlarger.

Would enjoy this more if you had the entire image in focus. Keep working with Black & White, much of your color work is leaning in this direction. (I am a bit biased :) )

Although I like this photograph I recommend looking at the rest of the portfolio, there is much too see. My only criticism of this photo would be the film choice, there is just too much grain. I have some picts taken with tri-x (with a reputation of grainyness) that look quite a bit smoother. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=191315
Is fuji 800 a color print film?

I think the hand and flower is an interesting concept, but I am not too fond of the 'first person' position of the hand.

Nice work-- this reminds me a bit of 'Brett Westons' canal, although the feeling of yours is much different in color.

Nice macro. Try a little more diffuse lighting for a more subtle shadow.

Nice macro rock/face. A polarizing filter would probably help with some of the specularity.

Interesting picture. I think the perspective would of been improved by moving the camera to the right a few feet.

Nice fungus. Lighting is somewhat harsh.

Pleasant photo. I would like to see a little bit more of the waterfall! I also suggest cropping more of the shadow of the foreground goose.
