  1. I haven't printed this as yet but I've using a service called PhotoBox (www.photobox.co.uk). Although this is UK based there must be similar services in the US. You upload files and then order prints. They print using digital enlargers - Fuji Frontier for up to 10x12 and a Polielectronica Laserlab for the large format stuff. Although I'd guess the service is aimed at point'n'shoot digital camera users, I've had excellent results with everything that I've had printed - up to 20x30". The only caveat is that I made a point of finding out what the native resolutions of their enlargers are (300 dpi and 254 dpi) and what color profiles are used. I prepare the files that I upload so that they are sized correctly at the enlarger's native resolution. No disappointments so far - all the prints have been excellent and some of the 20x24 and 20x30 are just stunning. The prices are excellent - a 20x30 is around 28 dollars.
  2. Keith, thanks for your comments. This is a difficult photo to crop, even more so when you're seeing a relatively poor version of it. What's not obvious in this version is that the reflection of the moon can be seen in the water of the creek. You can just see it in the 'large' version here on Photo Net. I agree with your comment that cropping the bottom off would make a better composition but I'd lose that reflection! Interestingly, everyone I've shown this photo to has had strong views on how it should be cropped but most of the suggestions result in losing a significant amount of the 'feel' of the original image. As you say - it kind of works as it is although there's a nagging doubt that it could be better.

As regards P'town - I wish I lived in the area. I was visiting friends in Boston (I live outside the US) and stayed in P'town for one night. This was the end of the second day. I'd taken some photos at the lighthouse as the sun set and then packed up and started the 40-50 minute walk back to the car. Half way there I looked over my shoulder and saw this scene.
